Frequently Asked Questions

Here you will find all the answers to the most frequently asked questions. For further information please do not hesitate to contact us.

A dog with regular positive social contacts to other dogs and sufficient time to runaround and roam is a happy dog. Furthermore, regular and appropriate excercise strengthens the musculature, stimulates the cardiovascular system, eases stress and supports your dog’s (re)-socialisation. It is just a fun thing to do – you also enjoy a good time with friends, don’t you?

At Verschmitztes Dogwalking every dog is being taken care of individually – this is possible as we have groups of max. 5 – 7 dogs per tour and dogwalker. Thus, we can commit ourselves to each dog, consider his / her preferences, support training and pay attention to possible specifications.

We avoid overcrowded dog areas – e.g. Grunewaldsee – as they are far too stressful for most dogs; instead, we want your dog to come home to you relaxed and happy and looking forward to the next tour.

Our tours last around 2 hours – the transport times are of course not included. During the tour, we offer fun and action, physical and mental stimulation – and of course (as far as the weather permits) the swimming and bathing fun is part of it, too. But also breaks for relaxation and refreshment are necessary and, therefore, part of the tour.

We always carry fresh water and relevant equipment (leashes, bowls, first aid kit, etc.).  If you want your dog to be fed with his / her regular food during the tour, this is of course also possible; the same applies to a possibly necessary drug administration. We will talk with you about potential allergies or other special requirements so that you can feel confident that your best friend is in the best of hands.

Transportation times are rather short as we only service the areas Kleinmachnow, Zehlendorf (Wannsee, Nikolassee and Schlachtensee) – no neverending journeys through all of Berlin! It goes without saying that our car is air-conditioned and that all dogs have their very own secure and comfortable box so that they can relax during the short trip and reach our destination safe and sound.

Our tours are being recorded by GPS – and if you want we will send you the relevant data after the tour. That way you can see where exactly your dog spent the day … and also with who: If requested, we will send you tour photos of your dog and his / her friends (per WhatsApp e.g.).

We will inform you of possible off times (vacation) at least 2 months in advance so that – if necessary – you can look for a replacement. If desired, we can help you by connecting you to a dogwalker from within our network (if possible).

Our dog training education also included first aid so that you can sit back and relax while your dog is on tour with us – we know what to do in case of emergency and carry the necessary equipment with us at all times!

Four your and our safety, we work on a contractual basis. This contract has been set-up by a specialist lawyer and you will of course be given plenty of time to review it prior to signature. You can also review our professional indemnity insurance. Transparency, security an safety from the beginning – that is what we stand for.

To cut a long story short: At Verschmitztes Dogwalking your dog will get everything he / she needs: Appropriate physical and mental stimulation, social contacts with fellow dogs (if desired), individual support and – most importantly – much, much love ♥

That’s easy: Basically, we will have a free and totally non-binding trial walk with each new dog and its owner. During that trial walk, we will have a look at your dog’s social compatibility, the training level and other characteristics. Furthermore, we will talk about what’s most important to you: That can be anything including food allergies, other handicaps or behaviour that should be stimulated or eliminated. And we will answer all other questions you might have. If everything is set, we will be very happy to include your best friend to our walkings on a regular basis.

In order to give every dog the attention and time he / she deserves, our groups are not bigger than max. 5 – 7 dogs per tour. Thus, the dogs have a consistent pack without ever changing fellow dogs and learn from each other – and they also learn to become friends.

We don’t think a great deal of packs consisting of more than 20 dogs as you get to see nowadays in Berlin’s forests – unfortunately. We want to be there for each dog individually, keep track of all dogs and respond to their needs. We are also no fans of overcrowded dog areas – that is far too stressful for most dogs!

We also offer dog training – you can find all information on training philosophy, prices and education on our partner website www.verschmitztes-hundetraining.de.

We both have successfully finished our education as dog trainers at the DogCoach Insitute in Berlin. The foci were dog behaviour and communication, playing attitude, learning behaviour and processes, relationships and commitment, aggression and its treatment; but also basics in anatomy, veterinary medicine, first aid and nutrition were part of the extensive education and training plan.

Michael has completed an additional dogwalkers’ training at Dogmenti where he has successfully passed all exams. He has been certified by the BHD Berlin (Berufsverband der Hundebetreuer und Dogwalker e.V.) in cooperation with the Veterinäramt Steglitz-Zehlendorf.

Michaela has been appointed as a dog trainer by the Veterinäramt Potsdam-Mittelmark according to § 11 sec. 1 no. 8f TierSchG. In October 2019, she finished an additional education as health trainer consisting of nutrition, fitness and general health issues. All exams were passed successfully. Furthermore, she is also certified as a BARF-advisor (Swanie Simon).

We permanently continue our education and training, keep track with the current research and the latest finding in the field of cynology. Thus, we regularly visit seminars and lectures of well-known researchers such as Dorit Feddersen-Petersen, Udo Gansloßer, Günther Bloch, Sophie Strodtbeck etc. We use this new knowledge in our daily work with the dogs and share it with you.

You can find our certificates on our profile page.

Our Philosophy
